In memory of Neil Aaronson

The PREFERABLE(-II) consortium is deeply saddened by the passing of our colleague, Neil Aaronson. Neil was a highly respected scientist and a deeply valued member of our consortium.

With his extensive expertise in psychosocial and quality of life research, he made an important contribution to PREFERABLE throughout the projects. His positively critical questions and ability to bring reason and perspective to discussions strengthened the quality of our work. Even in recent times, Neil remained actively involved in the project, sharing his constructive comments and contributing his expertise. His dedication to the work and to his colleagues was deeply appreciated.

Neil will be remembered for much more than his scientific contributions. We knew him as a kind, thoughtful and inspiring person, a mentor to many, and someone who brought warmth and a sense of humour to our collaboration.

We are deeply grateful for everything Neil brought to PREFERABLE and for the privilege of having worked together with him. He will be greatly missed, and his contribution to our work and to the people around him will not be forgotten.

Our thoughts are with Neil’s family and friends during this difficult time.
